frocksandfroufrou

i am mildly obsessed with Google Analytics.
it tells me things i find fascinating.

like - i don't really use facebook, (so little, im not even linking it right now) yet on a list of 200 referral sites, facebook is top 5. (so maybe i'll be working on that a bit more!)

or like - people in NY bounce from my front page, while people from CA stay for a while.
               France bounces... Canada stays.

or - that i got 26 hits from Australia in 10 hours.. hmm?...  and a new (but not unfamiliar) name was on my referral list - frocksandfroufrou

so I go, and find out that I'm a featured seller on her blog today. woohoo.

it's a lovely blog. i know about it because of another site where we're both members.
lillipilli - (as she's known to me) has fab style, and takes a great pic.
she writes mostly personal style/fashion, from the point-of-view of someone who doesn't take the lack of cute options lying down. amen.

i check out her blog several times a month (which is saying a LOT for me) and I always love to see what she's wearing and writing. seems lots of other ladies enjoy it, too.

(and she has badass red boots!)

so anyway, the blog today is about finding plus-size vintage online.
i am in good company, and i feel pretty special about being included.

full on love

my sister gave me the gift of flickr for christmas - so i'm now pro. woo.

and i went pro today because i received my new camera today - i know buydig gets a bad rap sometimes, but i had to take a risk, because that's a pretty good deal, and i did get the second lens.

so, i'm in love with it.. actually no. i'm in lust. that beginning of the relationship where you're hot and heavy and you kindddda see a few issues, but you just. don't. care.

that's me right now.

i took a bazillion pics today of kitchenware. deleted most. but figured out some things that will be helpful in the future. best to start with inanimate objects before moving on to people.

once a month blogging...

doesn't cut it!

here's what's what.

drew left for vegas today. i got to have brunch/lunch with him and then drive the long way to the airport. dropped him off and drove around Hermitage and Lebanon.
Ran into some vintage procuring sites!
i found about 10 great new pieces today... and left 20-30 behind  (i'm being selective)
and for me:
a pyrex butter dish
a children's book from the 60's called Lengthy, about a extra-long schnauzer.
a wooden soldier from Denmark
and two lovely knit skirts (I've been searching for MONTHS!)
ooh and a crazy woven belt with gold leather details

my computer is dead, we think.
and i am a moron, and thought i'd backed up to my external HD properly, and i didn't...
so there might be 3 years of music, work, pics, bookmarked sites, etc. gone. - i'm not sure what i'll do.

so I'm listing things that only need a pic or two that I have already online.
which sucks.. because I'm on vacation right now, and have lots of time to put new goodies up in the shop.

but there are still good goodies to be had. 100 of them to be exact. :)

still time to get a fab NYE dress or top!

día de gracias

i'm really full of thanks right now.
being happy where i am, but still looking to the future.
trying to be more thoughtful and considerate, whilst not walking on eggshells, or swallowing my emotions.
it's a tight kind of balance to achieve.

i've neglected my blog.
if I hadn't, I would have shown you some of the cool, non-clothes things I've found recently..
and i would have told you about the burlesque show I saw where one of the girls did a reenactment of the camera dance from Silence of the Lambs. - fan-fucking-tastic.

Instead, I will say HAPPY THANKSGIVING! and tell you that you get 25% off everything in my shop until midnite on Friday!

i had my first hoop class today.. definitely different than the Saturday morning classes, and this one kicked my ass. i am going to feel it so good tomorrow.
i suck hooping in reverse, and that's all we did. i practice, but it feels alien, and my hips don't like my feet alternating front forward.

wearing now - my hooping clothes (old cut off jeans and a tshirt)

wore today-
navy suede flat ankle boots - thrifted
baby blue socks with little duckies - target $1 bin
jean skirt - svoboda
plum modal ls tshirt - svoboda
cream colored long sweater vest - thrifted
member's only caramel leather jacket - thrifted and in love

Sunny Saturday

i'm trying not to spend money, so not going to the Flea Mkt, which is supposed to be chock-full of vintage goodies this weekend. i'm guessing this is a good one to attend most years.
it's a good way to spend a day, and parking is only $3, and good for the whole weekend.

i always love going, the people watching, and the finding small miracles of time.

it's Pumpkinfest in downtown Franklin.. traffic is insane outside.
i saw some cute costumed kids earlier this morning.
waited in line for 25 minutes at the post office.
got a yummy sub and coffee
all with a weird headache that won't go away (even with the coffee)

so i look like this today- a little fuzzy around the edges.

shoes - vans @ tj maxx
jeans - svoboda @ ebay
tneck - target
sweater - banana republic
bracelet - sojourns (fair-trade store in B'ham, AL)
scarf - handmade and gifted by cara
