my minimalist world

heavy sarcasm.
actually, in my own way, i am a minimalist.
but i have a lot of shit.

we live in a tiny, tiny 1BR/1BA apartment. here are a few shots i took today...

the kitchen - grains, tea, and things grown underground

the chick and the lion
vintage daniel green shoes, mr. t, doll baby, phone cord purse, samsonite

the cats, my favorite lamp, monkey from costa rica, bowling pins, bottles, and assorted shoes and other oldies

my new bookshelf, my grandma, art, books, a message

finally photo shoot

i finally got to do another photoshoot today.

two lovely models, both seniors at VU, whom I've worked with before, came and worked it out for... damn near five hours. bless them.

a friend of mine who is getting more and more into photography asked if he could take the pics. um, yes? please.

i did the detail shots, and some styling, although i thought they wore size 8 shoes, and they both wear a 10.. so that part of my world needs work, but we shot SEVENTY-FIVE pieces! amazing.

it felt sooo good to get shit done. so, so good.

here are a few of my favorites.

a few new listings

just a few new items to get the vintage listing, shop lovin' muscles moving again -
have some great things in store for the late winter and spring. i promise (myself and anyone else who is reading.. I PROMISE!)

enjoying the last day of my four-day weekend. rearranged my bedroom for better flow, and made an amazing brunch of farm eggs (i'm spoiled, they are delivered to my school twice a month) in a peppered goat cheese omelet with peppers, benton's bacon, toast and sprouts on top.

i just need a coffee to make it complete, but since I'm going on 4 hours of sleep right now, and it's already almost 2.. probably not a good idea.

Hunting

usually my hunting involves my gps, some coffee, and a list of estate sales, garage sales, or thrift stores that i want to get to.

yesterday, I did a different kind of hunting... graffiti hunting.
I am currently (and have been for about a year) obsessed with hunting graffiti by the elusive READ MORE BOOKS .  it started with a huge roller piece on the side of my favorite building in nashville,  the Marathon Village home of Corsair Artisan Distillery (former home of Yazoo Brewing).

A few months ago, we found this one -

and also this one -

then, when I was in New Orleans in November, I saw three that I was unable to get pics of.. but right as we were heading out of town...

so, recently this dude (dudes? I don't pretend to have a clue who/how many or really anything else about graffiti at all) is getting a lot more notice.. including a 10-page feature in JUXTAPOZ magazine.

There is a book (no, rilly?!) and a zine (that too?!) Which I bought myself for Christmas.

I didn't find the droids I was looking for, but I did find some cool places in my city I didn't know existed.. and then had a beverage where it all began.
